‘Deep Sea Creature Vibing’

This collection is called Deep Sea Creature Vibing, I love all of the amazing sea animals of the world, and love to try to capture their beautiful unique features in a painting using different techniques and painting tools.

This collection is made up of Jelly Vibing, Deep Sea Vibing, Ocean Chilling, and Ocean Hunter. Each one is exploring a different sea animal and its individual beauty in the deep sea. Surrounded by beautiful textured coral and layers of gorgeous blues, these creatures blend and yet still pop with bright colors.

I used thick acrylic paint for these as well as sponges, brushes, and blenders to make the different textures and bright colors.

These pieces were so much fun to paint and I love showing the beauty that we can capture of the different sea animals that can be found worldwide. I started by layering different shades of blue on the canvas until I covered all but the sketches I had of the animals. Then I started painting them purple with yellow spots to make them really pop off the canvas. Next I got out the sponges and added some yellow coral with some pink dots to break up all the yellow and help keep the Sea animal obvious and prominent while still keeping them back enough to give the illusion that they are off in the deep sea somewhere just chilling out.

‘Weird Deep Sea Creatures’

These are my weird deep sea creatures, I really enjoy how odd and fun some of the different creatures deep in the ocean are, and I enjoyed painting them and bringing their personalities and quirkiness to life.

Viperfish’

The Viperfish, this fish has luminescent organs that shine through its skin to attract prey, that it will impale on its teeth. During which the first vertebrae will absorb the shock. Such an amazing creature!!!

Hatchetfish’

Did you know Hatchetfish have bioluminescent organs and can regulate the light color and intensity to match the light coming from the surface? Every species has its own light pattern. These animals are so amazing!

‘Pufferfish’

Pufferfish are really cool, they’re one of the most poisonous vertebrates on earth, but since they get the poisons from their diets it is possible to raise non-poisonious ones. They also have amazing agility and eyesight, and their eyes can actually move independently from one another.

‘Lionfish’

Lionfish have venomous dorsal fins and can be quite painful if you get hit with them, so I’d steer clear if you see one of these pretty fish. Their stomachs can extend up to 30 times their size, so they can and will eat anything they can corner and fit into their mouths, they love to eat and eat a lot.

‘Sarcastic Fringehead fish’

‘Anglerfish’

Sarcastic fringehead fish face off by slamming their massive open mouths together to see who has the largest mouth, this shows their double row of teeth and physical size off. So they fight by having a weird kiss, such a funny creature!

The Anglerfish can extend their stomach and jaw in order to eat something twice their own size, and then they can store the food in their stomachs until they need it. The lure they have is actually not bioluminescent itself but has bioluminescent bacteria living inside benefitting from the shelter and nutrients the angler provides, and the angler benefits from the bioluminescence attracting prey.
